This week our group responded to the teacher that is letting us help with her garden. We told her that we would be happy to help out with her garden and that we would do anything that she needs us to do. We also offered up an idea to get spare tools and other supplies if needed. Overall this week was pretty even in terms of eventfulness. It was eventful since we are making progress for the garden but also uneventful since there isn't a lot of new stuff to cover and do this week. Until next week see you later.

We emailed the teacher that is letting us help her with her garden. She said that she doesn't need anymore volunteers but she is willing to let us help with weekly things. Such as weeding, planting, and watering the garden. She also said that she will most likely start the garden at the beginning of April or until it gets and stays warm. Our team is ready for April and we hope that the weather stays warm enough to get started with our project. We are also gathering tools and other products that we will need for the garden.
This week we are have talked more to the lady that has the garden we can help farm. We have accepted her offer and hope to get started soon. Our group is ready for spring to come so we can get some actual work done. We hope that the time flies by and we can get up and running with out project!
I plan to help our group accomplish our goal of completing the garden. We started with nothing and our original idea was that we were going to just build a community garden. The direction with our idea now is that we are going to help rebuild a garden where we will plant vegetables. We now have a definite plot of land that we are going to help farm. This is a lot better than trying to get a plot from the city and starting from scratch. We don't know when we will be able to start the meat and potatoes of our project though.
We have accomplished one of or goals this week. We contacted the Bethalto Public Works and have told them of our intentions. This is a great first step for our project. We still need a plot to build upon from the Public Works Office. We plan on arranging something with them this week or the start of next week. We hope that the Public Works Office allows us to construct the garden. We are still thinking of times to plant and ways to get the tools. We also are thinking of ways to get fertilizer and many assortments of vegetable seeds. We have also been notified by our teacher that there is a garden plot at the 2nd and 3rd grade school. This plot was started last year by a group that did this project. Our teacher said that he will contact the principle of the school and see what he can do to get us that plot. We hope to hear from either the principle of the school or the Public Works Office soon.
Since my last blog we have not accomplished much. We have been discussing what our next move should be. We have not contacted the mayor yet. We are hoping to be able to do all of the things that we want to do sometime within the month of November. We are still going to accomplish all the things that we want to. Like I stated last week our plan is to make a garden that will be taken over by the community of Bethalto when this project that we are working on in English class is over. The weather recently hasn't been much in our favor, snowing, raining, and mostly being under 30 degrees all day every day. We hope that this weather will go away and we can do things like make a base for our garden. We are still working on our website and thinking of different ways to get supplies.
Hello my name is Charles and me along with my partners Shelton and Tommy are making a community garden for our small town of Bethalto. This reason we are doing this is because of our English class project. Our task is to better our community, our idea is to make a garden. We will be doing this as soon as we pick a location and also get approval from the Mayor. We think this will better or community by bringing out Bethalto's true beauty. We have also decided to make our garden a community garden to get people involved with nature, and also when we aren't able to tend to the garden due to school or sports. We plan to work on the garden for the remainder of this year and let the community take over if our project picks up enough steam. We plan to grow both flowers and produce in our garden this will help people less fortunate in our community. We are still settling on a location to build our garden and how we are gonna get the tools and support we need. Our group plans on contacting the Mayor this week.
